C litterature

Post by KBleivik »

C is minimalistic and close to machine language. Many other languages, operating systems, virtual machines etc. are written in C. Our favourite book if you intend to learn C is Kerhnighan and Ritchie's (often referred to as K&R) classic book: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_C_Programming_Language.

You find solutions to some exercises on this page: http://users.powernet.co.uk/eton/kandr2/

Here http://www.nr.com/oldverswitcher.html is another classic book that is now available for free.

See also Robert Sedgewick and his bundle about algorithms http://algs4.cs.princeton.edu/home/ that is also available in C:

http://www.amazon.com/Algorithms-Parts- ... 201756080/ (Note that it is the third edition).
