2. Create native mobile apps with Word Press and PhoneGap
Note that you can easily create a mobile website with WordPress by using a mobile theme or themes that support mobile devices. This may be a quick and easy way to create mobile applications out of WordPress, but it does not provide a native interface for the application.
But you can combine WordPress with PhoneGap to build some really cool mobile applications. While it may not be obvious, WordPress can be used in conjunction with PhoneGap to create native mobile apps, with a powerful backend content management system (CMS) provided by WordPress.
Note: That Adobe DreamWeaver CS 6 comes with PhoneGap build.
3. Install Buddypress and get a Wordpress powered social networking site
Log in to your WordPress site and navigate to Plugins | Add New and search for BuddyPress. You can install BuddyPress by clicking on Install Now. As of this writing there are 16 additional BuddyPress related plugins.
The process
took less than 5 seconds on my more than 4 year old laptop. You can of course have your company's infrastructure on a http://www.microsoft.com/surface/en-us/ ... face-pro-2 with 8 Gb ram, 512 Gb harddrive and 200 Gb SkyDrive storage.
